Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Product Owner within the property and casualty insurance industry to join our team.
The Product Owner will define user stories and prioritize the agile team backlog for the Claims area, as well as the Document Development, Generation, and Delivery Lifecycle.
They will focus on the insurance product, streamline execution of program priorities, and ensure team flow for the delivery of Claims and Document Delivery items.
The Product Owner will also support quality control and be the sole team member empowered to accept stories as done.
The ideal candidate will also contribute to the business vision and program roadmap for the Claims and Document items in support of the Business Product Manager and drive iterations.
About the Role Builds, edits, and maintains the Claims and Document team backlog; prioritizes the backlog in preparation for program increment (PI) planning.
Provides story definition/clarification in a timely fashion; is empowered to make critical decisions quickly.
Interfaces with business stakeholders for Claims and Document delivery to gather and refine functional requirements (epics and features); authors product backlog items (user stories).
Understands the intent of the program vision, business strategies, expected outcomes, and supporting roadmap; is able to translate this intent to an agile team for implementation.
Helps drive continuous improvement by using feedback loops, coaching, retrospectives, and individual improvement.
Serves as the central point of contact for all communications relating to business stakeholders.
Develops user stories from prioritized features in collaboration with Business Product Manager; champions efforts to attain product vision and objectives.

Project Manager, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Business subject-matter expert, etc.
) Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of property and casualty insurance with an emphasis on insurance product.
Demonstrated success leading teams to consensus without direct authority.
Experience working within an agile environment lean business case development.
Experience gathering and writing detailed business requirements and/or user stories.
