Summary:
Become part of Mercury's Law Department team providing support in all areas of corporate law including litigation, contract review and creation, confidentiality agreements, and administrative support of matter and financial management. Responsibilities:
1. Assist the General Counsel in the timely and effective conduct of the duties of the Law Department. 2. Assist the General Counsel with coordinating the flow of efficient and timely communications between employees related to their requests and concerns as appropriate. 3. Research, compile, compose, organize, and prepare written reports, presentations, and documents for the General Counsel. Organize and/or distribute written and oral communications as appropriate. 4. Manage and maintain the General Counsel's schedule including making travel arrangements and submitting expense reports. 5. Coordinate and organize Law Department special events and projects. Schedule meetings with internal and external customers. Act as the General Counsel's liaison and screening point for visitors and phone calls. Required
Qualifications:
Required qualifications should be able to be answered by a yes or no (i.e., Bachelors Degree - yes, five years experience, yes, etc.) Associate degree in Paralegal studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible related work experience in a legal environment. Extensive knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, grammar, spelling, punctuation and modern English usage. High degree of skill in computer applications and use of hardware and software applications. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Outlook. Familiarity with databases and database management. Strong problem-solving skills to include accuracy and attention to detail. Must demonstrate ability to capture essential issues, suggest solutions and provide research and follow-through. Willingness to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make decisions with minimal direction. Must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize projects along with ongoing assignments. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Ability to work with multiple projects under tight and varied deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated effective email communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment in making independent decisions with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
